Το μνημείο του Άγνωστου Ναύτη τοποθετήθηκε με δαπάνη του Δήμου Σκοπέλου, επί δημαρχίας Σταμάτη Περίσση το 2001. Αποτελεί φόρο τιμής σε κάθε άγνωστο ναύτη της Σκοπέλου, από την αρχαιότητα έως τη σύγχρονη εποχή. Είναι φιλοτεχνημένο από τη γλύπτρια Τζαβάρα Αικατερίνη, το γένος Χρήστου Κοσμά, γεννημένης στη Σκόπελο το 1946.

Η ανάπλαση του μόλου, πραγματοποιήθηκε από το Λιμενικό Ταμείο Σκοπέλου το 2003, επί προεδρίας Άγγελου Ξηντάρη. Την ίδια εποχή τοποθετήθηκαν δυο άγκυρες με στύπο, Αγγλικού Ναυαρχείου, οι οποίες βρέθηκαν στη λιμενολεκάνη της Σκοπέλου, που αποτελούσαν μέρος του ναυτικού εξοπλισμού ιστιοφόρων σκοπελίτικων σκαριών, που έλαβαν μέρος στον Αγώνα του 1821. Τα δυο κανόνια, που επίσης βρίσκονται στον ίδιο χώρο, αποτελούσαν μέρος του αμυντικού συστήματος της παραλίας της Σκοπέλου, την εποχή της Επανάστασης. Η επιμέλεια εφαρμογής στο χώρο από τον κ. Άγγελο Ξηντάρη, καθηγητή δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης.

Unknown Sailor

The monument of the Unknown Sailor was installed at the expense of the Municipality of Skopelos during the mayoralty of Stamatis Perissis in 2001. It serves as a tribute to every unknown sailor of Skopelos, from antiquity to the modern era. It was crafted by sculptor Aikaterini Tzavara, née Christou Kosma, born in Skopelos in 1946.
The reconstruction of the mole was carried out by the Skopelos Port Authority in 2003, under the presidency of Angelos Xidaris. Around the same time, two anchors with stocks from the British Navy were placed; these were found in the Skopelos harbor basin and were part of the naval equipment of Skopelos sailing vessels that took part in the War of Independence in 1821. The two cannons also located in the same area were part of the defensive system of Skopelos beach during the Revolution. The technical supervision and site management were handled by Mr. Angelos Xidaris, a secondary education teacher.
