Το ορειχάλκινο γλυπτό που κοσμεί το λιμάνι του Αγνώντα, στήθηκε με δαπάνη του Λιμενικού Ταμείου Σκοπέλου το 2004, επί προεδρίας Άγγελου Ξηντάρη, εν όψη των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων, που τελέστηκαν στην Αθήνα το 2004, για να τιμήσει τον Πεπαρήθιο ολυμπιονίκη, Άγνωντα. Παραπλεύρως εκτίθενται δυο άγκυρες αγγλικού τύπου (19ου αιώνα), με στύπο, οι οποίες βρέθηκαν στο λιμάνι του Αγνώντα, κατά τις εργασίες θεμελίωσης του.

Ο Άγνων ο Πεπαρήθιος έζησε τον 6ο  αιώνα προ Χριστού,  ήταν αρχαίος Έλληνας αθλητής από την Πεπάρηθο τη σύγχρονη Σκόπελο. Το 568 προ Χριστού στέφθηκε Ολυμπιονίκης στο αγώνισμα του σταδίου, στους 53ους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες της Ολυμπίας. Το έργο είναι της γλύπτριας Τζαβάρα Αικατερίνης, το γένος Χρήστου Κοσμά, γεννημένης στη Σκόπελο το  1946. Η τεχνική επιμέλεια του χώρου και η εφαρμογή, έγινε από τον κ. Άγγελο Ξηντάρη.

Agnon

The bronze sculpture that adorns the port of Agnontas was erected in 2004 at the expense of the Skopelos Port Authority, under the presidency of Angelos Xidaris, ahead of the Olympic Games held in Athens in 2004. It honors the Olympian Agnon from Peparithos. Nearby, two English-type anchors (19th century) with stocks are exhibited; they were found in the port of Agnontas during foundation works.

Agnon of Peparithos lived in the 6th century BC. He was an ancient Greek athlete from Peparithos, the modern Skopelos. In 568 BC, he was crowned Olympic champion in the stadion race at the 53rd Olympic Games of Olympia. The sculpture is by the artist Aikaterini Tzavara, née Christou Kosma, born in Skopelos in 1946. The technical supervision and installation of the site were done by Mr. Angelos Xidaris.
